The treatment of wastewater is one of the most important challenges of municipalities to protect the environment and especially our waters. Wastewater treatment produces not only purified water but also sewage sludge that needs to be handled in a sufficient way. Handling and disposal of sewage sludge differs between different countries in the Baltic Sea region. Also the environmental load caused by the sludge varies between regions. The Workshop on Sustainable Sludge Handling gathers together experts around the Baltic Sea to present what are the good practices in sludge handling.

The Sewage Company of Lübeck (Entsorgungsbetriebe Lübeck) and the City of Lübeck have the pleasure of inviting you to the Workshop on Sustainable Sludge Handling. The workshop will take place on 7th September 2011 in the Media Docks, Willy-Brandt-Allee 31a, 23554 Lübeck.
